  as a bible based organization, how do feel jehovah's organization should be reformed?

  the answer is quite simple in christendoms churches:.

  1. reject false doctrines like the trinity and 'all christians go to heaven' and use of images in worship.. .

  Help me ID the Logical Fallacy, Please!

  spoke to a friend of mrs. - a fairly involved sister - and asked the question:.

  "circa 1850, small town usa, i am somewhat of a sinner - no murderer or anything, but could live a more productive life - one day i have a vision that my ways are wrong and the only way to redeem myself is to serve the only true god.. which organization do i join, which bible do i read and who provides my timely spiritual food?.

  her answer - "well we can't be sure, but we shouldn't doubt jehovah had provided for the faithful christians through his holy spirit".. this seems like two fallacies into one answer - it looks like a red herring, because she sidestepped the issue, and it also looks like a straw man, because i didn't doubt jehovah, i doubted the wt's "always had an org" story.. so is it a red herring, straw man or maybe red man or straw herring, since it's a combo.

  There's also the erroneous assumption in the question that to find God you need to find the right organization to join...

  ...well, an assumption put forward by the WTBS itself....in the eyes of a JW, it should make the question that more legit.

  Association: Am i being lied to?

  i don't hesitate to bring up with the girl i study with, my criticisms of the religion, and one of those is the association.

  i keep reading on here that jw's don't make friends outside the cult, and this is what i used as an excuse for stepping further away from being baptized.

  she tells me it's not true, and they can have what ever friends they want.

  Apostates part from 2011 DC Symposium

  i just got through listening to the part on apostates.

  .

  they basically ignored any true questions or critisisms in favor of an ad hominem character attack on apostates.. they made the assertion that "apostates" are 1-prideful, 2-ingrateful, 3-impatient.. anyone that's listened care to discuss the part?.

  Please help me!!!

  just had the last of my sibblings treating my dad like dirt.

  my younger sister recently conveyed to me that my other sibblings jws of course will not give dad any money to purchasde a pair of shoes for himself to wear at my daughters wedding as he has a pair of sandals he can wear, all this just to piss me off .

  they have power of attorney over his estate and collect all the money and ever since mum passed away in a nursing home that they arranged for her and dad because they wouldn't look after him nor allow myself nor my younger sister to look after him and ever since then he cant even buy a lolly pop for himself.

  Sorry to hear about your ordeal. No parent should be treated like that.

  If I am not mistaken, the POA can be revoked. As long as your father is not incompetent, PoA giveth-PoA taketh. I am not a lawyer and don't really know your situation, but it may be something to consider.

  I understand the shoes were a test, but if dad can't afford it maybe a thrift store or another affordable way can be the way to go.

  Good luck and don't forget to keep your daughter's big day focused on her!
